Enjoy Christmas or New Year in a cosy Cornish cottage

Both Blackberry Lodge (sleeping 4 + cot) and Bramblewood Cottages (sleeping 6 + cot) make a wonderful base for a holiday at Christmas or the New year with friends or family. All the facilities are open as usual, including the heated indoor swimming pool, the games room with pool and table tennis tables and the laundry room with industrial sized washing machines and tumble dryers. There is also free Wireless Internet Access in both of the cottages, for you to stay in touch while away, or checkout any activities' websites for opening times, directions etc.

The cottages are next door to one another on the small complex set above Bude in peaceful rolling countryside. They are ideal for families wanting to spend Christmas or New Year away together in 4 star graded quality cottages where we have tried to ensure you'll have everything you need for a perfect Christmas or New Year break. There's a welcome tray and beds are made up for your arrival, and the tariff is inclusive - so there are no annoying meters. Cots and highchairs are provided free of charge. There are a total of 14 cottages on the site, but not all are let out to holiday makers. This means that you'll often have the pool to yourselves, which is perfect for new swimmers and those just learning. It has a constant depth of 1.27 meters so no 'deep end' to worry about.

At Christmas and New Year the beach provides a wonderful deserted walk along the coast, breathing clean fresh air, making you hungry for a pub lunch, or back to the cottage for a meal. You won't miss your favourite programs as we provide blank videos to tape shows while you are out, and we also have a selection of films to watch on DVD and video. Both cottages are very well stocked with books for all ages, but with an abundance of excellent children's books for bedtime stories and reading alone, plus board games to play.

For something different, go down to the beach on Christmas morning and take part in the annual Christmas dip in the sea with the Bude Surf and Life Saving Club, then enjoy hot mince pies to warm up! This is a sponsored event to raise funds for the club, and they are very happy to welcome holiday makers taking part, or just watching!

Bude has a mild climate and even at New Year its still possible to enjoy bracing walks around Hartland Point, or visit the nearby towns of Boscastle, Tintagel and Clovelly. Get the New Year off to a fine start by visiting Dartmoor, just inland, which provides some spectacular views from the hills and tors of the coastline.

Both self catering cottages are rated by the English tourist council as 4 star standard. They are ideal for asthma and allergy sufferers, as each cottage is both non-smoking and does not accept pets.
